Training also provides an opportunity for networking	We offer a wide range of courses including suicide prevention, dealing with self-harm and promoting mental health. Our suicide intervention training programme comes from LivingWorks Education who are based in Canada and operate worldwide.
	The ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills) programme was designed and is maintained by Livingworks. It is a two-day course in suicide first aid. Trainers are monitored through Livingworks in Canada and the national Choose Life team. Two other short programmes being used in Argyll and Bute are suicideTALK and safeTALK. SuicideTALK is an awareness raising talk for anyone in the community asking the question: Should we talk about suicide?". safeTALK is a half-day, skills-based training where participants learn how to recognise if someone is having thoughts of suicide, how to talk to them about it and how to get further help. Contact the Choose Life team if you want to run suicideTALK or safeTALK in your area.
